Couple and Relationship Therapy

My work with partners is based on the premise that human beings are wired for connection. We thrive, heal, and grow when we are able to seek comfort and understanding in safe relationships. I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy which was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson.

Using EFT, I help partners identify patterns of interaction that create conflict, discover and explore the feelings that feed into those patterns, and create new interactions that foster safe, healthy connections between partners.

The goal of EFT is to find the root cause of the conflicts that happen in relationships rather than focus on the topic of each conflict. This is an effective model for people who have addressed concerns in the past, learned and used skills to address conflict, and still find themselves stuck in patterns of interactions that are painful.
